Privacy policy

TextCite is configured by default to send anonymous usage information to an internet server. This information contains a randomly determined anonymous user identifier, in order to differentiate the users of the program without being able to identify the person or IP address where the program is being used. In addition, the program sends the version of TextCite being used, the operating system in which it is running, and an identifier for the country from which the user is connecting.

This information is used to indicate which languages and operating systems are most frequently used, in order to offer new language translations for non-English speaking countries where TextCite is frequently used, and to prioritize support for frequently used operating systems. In no case will TextCite send, or the internet server store, information which could permit the identification of the user. Neither the IP address, nor the name of the user, nor any other type of traceable information will be saved for the user.

If, in any case, you would like to deactivate the sending of usage information to the TextCite project's central server, you can change this behavior from the network preferences panel.
